Lyndonville VT

Right Wall completed the first solar projects using the Brownfield Reuse And Environmental Liability Limitation Program (BRELLA) in the state of Vermont. The former Northeast Tool facility is located in a mixed commercial and industrial zone in Lyndonville. Originally constructed in 1968, the Northeast Tool Division of Vermont American Corporation’s facility manufactured router bits, drills, and other tools until 1993. After 10 years of vacancy, the facility was demolished in 2003. Between 1991 and 2004, a variety of environmental investigation and remediation activities were conducted on the property, including the removal of chromium impacted soil and concrete, removal of PCB impacted soil and concrete, removal of TPH impacted concrete, and removal of other petroleum contaminated soils. In 2017 Right Wall established a complex relationship with the Northeastern Vermont Development Association (NVDA) and Vermont Public Power Supply Authority (VPPSA) a Vermont Utility. With our guidance and leadership, and in coordination with the Vermont Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC), we used Section 128(a) Response Program funding to conduct further environmental remediation and work. In parallel the project site was permitted for the solar re-development with the Vermont Public Utilities Commission. The property now houses an 18-acre solar array that benefits Lyndonville Electric, VPPSA and its member utilities.
